Petals & Paisley Love Notes & Box

Petals & Paisley 3 x 3 Origami Box & Cards

I've been meaning to make one of these 3 x 3 Card boxes since receiving the Splitcoaststampers Newsletter back on 14th August, where it was the featured tutorial, and just haven't made time, until last Saturday night that is. Along with the box I decided to make a set of 5 Love Notes (3 x 3 cards) to put inside using some of the Petals & Paisley Designer Series Papers to coordinate. This box could fit more than 5 Love Notes & envelopes too as there is still plenty of room left. If you'd like to make on you can find the tutorial from SCS here.

You have probably only seen Love Note cards on my blog from Convention or Regionals as I usually find working in small spaces harder than standard sized cards. I had fun with these though and they didn't really take too long so you might start seeing more of these around in the coming weeks (I'm psyching myself up to not go MIA again....hehehe).

Here are some closer pictures of the box and each card with supplies.

Petal Prints Watercolour

Petal Prints - Make A Wish

Some of you may have seen this card before (or something very similar anyway) if you have ever visited my website. I originally made it when we had the Organdy Ribbon so I decided to revamp it using the taffeta and also add a Rub-On.

I love our Rub-Ons but don't often use them. I'm trying to change that so hopefully you will start seeing more of them in my cards. I also haven't used the Watercolour Wonder Crayons in a while so it was nice to play with them again too.

Supplies:
Stamp set: Petal Prints
Card: Old Olive, Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Watercolor Paper
Inks: Old Olive, Cameo Coral
Accessories: White Taffeta ribbon, Tool Kit, Earth Elements Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Stampin' Dimensionals, Water spray bottle (non-SU), Eastern Elegance Rub-ons.

Bodacious Wishes & Last days of September Promotion

I know, I've been MIA again.....  So sorry. Just been a busy few weeks with my girls, family life and this past week setting up my new computer which isn't easy when your internet is on a go slow as I've used up my quota. Impossible to download and install all those Windows updates when you are on a very slow connection but only a few days and I'll be back in business again.

I've been rather slack this month and only informed those on my mailing list about Stampin' Up's September promotion which is Free Wheelin. During September you could purchase any of the 6 pre-selected stamp sets and receive the matching Jumbo Wheel for FREE. That's a saving of $15.95.

The selected sets are:

Merry, Merry Bundle (Merry, Merry Stamp set + All About Christmas Jumbo Wheel)       Page 29   $45.95
Artfully Asian Bundle (Artfully Asian stamp set + Watercolor Vine Jumbo Wheel)          Page 48      $45.95
Nursery Necessities Bundle (Nrsery Necessities stamp set + Nursery Letters Jumbo Wheel)  Page 59  $56.95
Bodacious Bouquet Bundle (Bodacious Bouquet stamp set + Bodacious Jumbo Wheel)  Page 80  $58.95
Carte Postale Bundle (Carte Postale stamp set + Leaves a la Carte Jumbo Wheel)        Page 94-95  $48.95
Priceless Bundle (Priceless Stamp set + So Swirly Jumbo Wheely)            Page 105   $48.95

If you would like to order any of these there is still time as the special doesn't end till 30th September. Contact me now so you don't miss out.

Seeing that Bodacious Bouquet is one of the Free Wheelin' promotion sets and that I haven't used it in a while I decided to make a card using the set & wheel. I also opted to use some colours from Bold Brights which is my least used colour family. It's not that I don't like the colours in Bold Brights it's just that I'm more an Earth Elements and Rich Regals girl with some Soft Subtles thrown in where needed. So here is my card:

Bodacious Bouquet - Best Wishes

The base card is actually Gable Green but it's not showing up too well here, looks a little more like Sage Shadow in my opinion. Must be a mixture of natural light and Ott-Lite as usually the colours are very true in my pictures, unless I still have to tweak some settings on the new computer.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Bodacious Bouquet, Short & Sweet, Bodacious Jumbo Wheel
Card: Gable Green, Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White
Inks: Pink Passion, Almost Amethyst, Cameo Coral, Apricot Appeal.
Accessories: 3/16" small corner rounder, Soft Subtles brads, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Heartfelt Thanks

In one of the demonstrator yahoo groups I'm in we get weekly challenges. This weeks challenge was to blow the dust off a set we hadn't used in a while and create something using it.

Well I did that with Looks Like Spring but that was before the challenge was given so I decided rather than just share that card with the group I'd pull out another that needed the dust blown off (which there are quite a few)....hehehehe. That happens when you have a lot of stamp  sets as you tend to play with new favourites and forget about the other ones you've been neglecting.

You've probably guessed that the set I decided to pull out was Heartfelt Thanks. I have used the Sketch Challenge from SplitCoastStampers for this week (SC193) for my layout.

Heartfelt Thanks 1

For this first card I also chose to use a Colour Challenge from SplitCoastStampers (CC124) which is Old Olive, Regal Rose & Pretty In Pink.  I used the full Sketch for this card also as there was an optional piece to the layout which is the circular piece.

I wasn't too sure if I liked this card once it was finished but the more I looked at it the more I liked it.  If I didn't grow to like it you probably wouldn't have seen it.....hehehe.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Heartfelt Thanks, Circle of Friendship
Card: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Whisper White, Old Olive Prints DSP
Ink: Old Olive, Pretty in Pink & Regal Rose Markers.
Accessories: Tool Kit, 1" , 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches, Stampin' Dimensionals, stamp-a-ma-jig.

Heartfelt Thanks 2

This second card I decided to leave the optional piece out as I used the 'heartfelt' word stamp randomly over my base card and thought that was enough. I used the same colours as one of the cards in my previous post of Always Artichoke, Almost Amethyst and Lovely Lilac.

I'm still in 2 minds about this one. I much prefer the True Friends card using these colours so I'm not sure if it's just that I used the retired Almost Amethyst DSP in the previous card and I didn't in this one. This card just looks a little dark to me.

What do you think??

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Heartfelt Thanks
Card: Always Artichoke, Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst
Ink: Always Artichoke, Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst
Accessories: White Gel Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, stamp-a-ma-jig.

True Friends yet again....

I just love this set. I was so happy it made it into our mini catalogue but I've probably mentioned that already.

I made these 2 cards last Saturday evening for a Sketch Challenge that we do on one of the Yahoo groups I'm in.

True Friends 3

This is the 1st card I made which I'm really happy with. I really like this colour combo. Just a shame that the DSP I've used was from the Sampler Promotion pack a few months back but I'm thinking that the Polka Dot background stamp, stamped in Whisper White craft ink onto the Almost Amethyst Cardstock may give a similar result. I'll have to try it and show you how it turns out.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: True Friends, Short & Sweet
Card: Always Artichoke, Lovely Lilac, Very Vanilla, Almost Amethyst DSP
Ink: Always Artichoke, Almost Amethyst & Lovely Lilac Markers, Always Artichoke inkpad
Accessories: Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Tool Kit, Pretties Kit, Stampin' Dimensionals

True Friends 2

I then made the card up using some of the Apple Cider paper and coordinating cardstock. As we don't have In Colour Markers I made my own Wild Wasabi and River Rock markers using a blender pen and reinker. I think I need a bit more ink in the Wild Wasabi but it's still okay.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: True Friends, Short & Sweet
Card: Wild Wasabi, Really Rust, Very Vanilla, Apple Cider DSP
Ink: Really Rust, Wild Wasabi & River Rock Markers, Wild Wasabi Inkpad
Accessories: River Rock double-stitched ribbon, Tool Kit, Pretties Kit, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Cherry Backpack

I don't know if you have seen many of these mini backpacks around yet but they are just too cute, so I had to make one myself. I actually made this last Friday afternoon but it's taken me this long to photograph, edit and then find time to get on and share it with you all.

Cherries Backpack 1  Cherries Backpack 1a

I was originally planning on making these for my eldest daughters party bags last Saturday but seeing I left it till the night before I knew I wouldn't get them done (unless of course I didn't sleep) in time.

Supplies:
Card: Real Red, Summer Picnic DSP
Accessories: Crop-a-dile, Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Sticky Strip, Velcro Dots.

Spring is in the Air....

September is the start of spring so I thought I'd blow the dust off and old set and have a play with the Looks Like Spring stamp set and matching Spring Showers & Spring Flowers Designer Series Papers. These papers are still current and can be purchased by speaking with your demonstrator or myself about ordering some.

I decided to play with the Spring Showers papers first and created this card.

Looks Like Spring 3

This card is in the mail to someone so I hope they like it.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Looks Like Spring, Short & Sweet
Card: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Barely Banana, Very Vanilla, Spring Showers DSP
Ink: Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Aged Copper Hodgepodge, Rhinestone Brads - Ice, Spring Bouquet Punch, Small Oval Punch, Chocolate grosgrain ribbon (retired), Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals

This next card is using the Spring Flowers papers and a just a slight variance on the previous layout.

Looks Like Spring 2

This card is also on the way to someone too.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Looks Like Spring, One of a Kind
Card: Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana, Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla, Spring Flowers DSP
Ink: Cameo Coral, Barely Banana
Accessories: Spring Bouquet Punch, Large Oval Punch, Rhinestone Brad - Ice, Ribbon Originals - Sherbet, Mini Glue Dots, Sponge Dauber, Stampin' Dimensionals.

I decided to make one more card with this set and the Spring Flowers papers. I'm not real sure on this one though, so please let me know what you think. I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture but I've added Crystal Effects to the centre of the flowers and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on hence why I added the word 'sparkle'.

Looks Like Spring 1

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Looks Like Spring, Warm Words
Card: Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana, Very Vanilla, Spring Flowers DSP
Ink: Cameo Coral, Barely Banana, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Mellow Moss Taffeta ribbon, Designer Label Punch, Large Oval Punch, Spring Bouquet Punch, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots.

True Friend set

I made a card wallet back in January when Sale-a-bration was on which I had altered to fit Australian standard sized cards from a tutorial by Michele Force. Well I was going to link back to my original adapted creation but have just discovered that I didn't post it. Whoops.....

Well anyway, I was playing around with my True Friend stamp set recently and wanted to create another 3 cards to go with this card, using the coordinating wheel and DSP all available from the Spring Mini Catalogue and also give each a different card colour which coordinates with the DSP. Once I had the cards made I decided I would make a matching card wallet to fit them in. I adapted the pattern, yet again, to have a ribbon handle and a velcro closure rather than a belly band.

Would you like to see them????

Okay, here they are.

True Friend Card Bag & Cards 1

This was hard to photograph and include as much of the cards as possible so I'll include each item separately for a closer look and list the supplies for each.

This was the first card I made obviously as I mentioned I had posted it before.

True Friend - thank you

Supplies:
Stamp sets: True Friend, Occassional Greetings
Card: Close to Cocoa, River Rock, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Apple Cider DSP
Ink: Close to Cocoa, River Rock, Really Rust, Wild Wasabi Marker (made using blender pen and reinker)
Accessories: Antique Brass Hodgepodge, River Rock double-stitched ribbon, 3/16" corner rounder punch, small oval punch, Paper Piercing template & tool (tool kit), sponge dauber.

True Friend - Thank U

Next was this card.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: True Friend, Boho Friend wheel
Card: Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, River Rock, Apple Cider DSP
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa, Really Rust, River Rock
Accessories: Wild Wasabi double-stitched ribbon, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1/16" circle punch, silver brad, Stampin' Dimensionals.

True Friend - A True Friend is You Friend 1

This is card no. 3.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: True Friend
Card: Really Rust, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla, Apple Cider DSP
Ink: River Rock, Really Rust, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: River Rock double-stitched ribbon, silver brad, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1/16" circle punch, Stampin' Dimensionals.

True Friend - a little something

This was the final card for the set.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: True Friend, So Many Sayings
Card: River Rock, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Apple Cider DSP
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Really Rust and Wild Wasabi Markers
Accessories: Wild Wasabi double-stitched ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals.

True Friend Apple Cider Card Bag

And of course this is the card wallet.

Supplies:
Stamp set: True Friend
Card: River Rock textured, Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Close to Cocoa, Apple Cider DSP
Ink: Wild Wasabi, River Rock, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Wild Wasabi double-stitched ribbon, Crop-a-dile, 1/16" circle punch, Pretties Kit (rhinestone brad), sticky strip, velcro dot.

The main difference between this card wallet and my Cute Little Card Bag is the number of cards it will hold. This card wallet will only hold these 4 cards and envelopes comfortably. The Cute Little Card Bag will hold quite a lot more.

Christmas Stamp-A-Stack cards

This past week I started my Christmas Stamp-A-Stack classes where you go home with 10 Christmas cards (5 each of the 2 designs). I'm only holding them monthly this year on either a Thursday night or Friday morning. For further details of dates you can check my website or subscribe to my newsletter. If you can't make those dates then I'd be happy to have a Stamp-A-Stack at your house if you have a group of 6 or more. Contact me to discuss dates.

These are the 2 cards we made for August. Both of the stamp sets I've used are new purchases for me for this year. Of course one of the sets, Season of Joy, is only just available in the Spring Mini Catalogue and the other, Peaceful Wishes, is in the current Idea Book & Catalogue.

August Stamp Class cards

August Stamp Class

This month we did 2 different techniques and also made a Gift Card Holder shown in this post. The 2 techniques were Faux Tearing and Emerging Colour.

The Faux Tearing card (the blue card) is a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from Marelle Taylor's July Stamp-A-Stack cards shown here. I just loved the colour combination and the simplicity of this card was appropriate for a class card.

The other card is the Emerging Colour. A tutorial for this technique can be found here on SplitCoastStampers. They are a great resource for techniques, projects and samples using Stampin' Up stamp sets. If you haven't been to SplitCoastStampers before then make sure you can spare some time as you might be there for a while.....hahaha.

Supplies:
Faux Tearing
Stamp sets: Paisley Background, Garden Whimsy
Card: Soft Sky, Mellow Moss, Whisper White
Ink: Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Mellow Moss
Accessories: Sponge Dauber, Stampin' Dimensionals, copy paper.

Emerging Colour
Stamp sets: Fabulous Flowers, Priceless
Card: Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Sage Shadow, Whisper White
Ink: Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Sage Shadow, Mellow Moss, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Versamark
Accessories: Brayer, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Embossing Buddy, Rhinestone Brads (Fire & Ice)
