Live Your Dreams Scrapbook Purse

I was over at SCS (Splitcoaststampers) recently having a browse and came across a lovely Purse made by Jan of Stamps, Paper, Scissors using the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper, Live Your Dreams stamp set, Carousel Notes and a few other items. On closer inspection it turned out to be a lovely Purse suitable for showcasing a few photos. Jan has made a great tutorial to share of her Carousel Notes Purse Book which can be found here.

Now I'm not really a scrapbooker as many of you have probably gathered, but I just had to make one of these myself. I kept a lot of it very similar to Jan's as there's no point changing things that are already great but I did have to alter some things as we either don't have the product available in Australia or I don't own it myself (yes there are some things I don't own.....for those of you that know me rather well).

I haven't added photos as yet as I need to find something suitable but here are some photos of my finished creation.

Live Your Dreams Scrapbook Purse front

This is the front of the Purse, which I'm sure you already knew.

Doesn't the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Papers look great?

The colours and designs look so much better in real life than in the Catalogues but of course that's normal when you only see a small snippet of each design.

I've purchased and am using so much more DSP this year to last. Not that I didn't like last years but I was determined to buy and use this year not buy and store like last year......hehehe. Seeing I'm not a scrapbooker I found last year that I didn't think to pull out the papers and use on my cards but that has definitely changed and at $11.95 a pack how can you go wrong.

If you've checked out Jan's tutorial you will notice I didn't paper pierce around the carousel note. Unfortunately we don't have the brass templates available in Australia (maybe next IB&C) so I cut my dsp slightly larger and then used my Crop-a-dile to add some dry embossing around the scallop edge of the carousel note.

Live Your Dreams Scrapbook Purse side

Here's the view from the side:

How nifty is that?

I've used a mini velcro dot to keep it closed so it can be picked up. The handle is a piece of 5/8" chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon with a piece of groovy guava double-stitched ribbon adhered over the top. I've added 2 jumbo eyelets to the back side of the carousel note, threaded the ribbon through and adhered to the back using sticky strip. I've then adhered the back side of the carousel note to the back of the card again using sticky strip. (Just like Jan did her's in the tutorial).

Now for the inside.

A good majority of this is quite similar to Jan's as I really liked the way she did her layout.

I'm still contemplating adding a bit more detail here and of course when I select my pictures I'll do a little journalling.

So do you love it as much as I do? Then pop over to Jan's site and grab the tutorial and create your own.  Leave me a comment and link to your creations so I can check them out.

A quick Eastern Blooms card.

This card is one that you can almost whip up in no time.

I've started out with a Certainly Celery base card which I randomly stamp one of the small flower stamps from the Eastern Blooms stamp set using Certainly Celery ink. Eastern Blooms 1

Next step was to cut a piece of the lovely Bali Breeze Designer Series Paper and mount that to a slightly larger  piece of Taken With Teal card. This is then mounted directly to the base card as shown.

I have then inked the flower in Tempting Turquoise ink and stamped onto a piece of Whisper White card which I then cut out. This is mounted to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The final step is to stamp your sentiment/words onto the card using Taken with Teal ink. I have used the Wonderful Favourites stamp set.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Eastern Blooms, Wonderful Favourites
Card: Certainly Celery, Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Bali Breeze DSP
Ink: Taken with Teal, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals.

A card using one of the new Summer Mini sets.

The card I'm going to share with you now was made a little over a week ago but I've just not made enough time (while I've been thinking about it anyway) to share it with you all. Finally I've found that time.

Live Your Dreams 1

To make this card I've started out with a Soft Sky base card which I randomly stamped the butterfly stamp from the Live Your Dreams stamp set using Soft Sky Ink.

I have then cut 2 separate pieces of the Afternoon Tea DSP and torn the bottom edge of one. I have adhered them together and then tied Groovy Guava double-stitched ribbon around them before adhering them to the base card.

Using the flower image I have inked the flower with Groovy Guava carefully using the inkpad and the stem with Wild Wasabi being careful not to mix the colours. This is then stamped onto the Whisper White card. I then inked just the flower heads in Groovy Guava and stamped them onto a scrap of Whisper White card and then inked the leaves with Wild Wasabi and stamped them onto scrap also. These pieces have then been cut out and layered on top of the full image to add some dimension. This piece is then layered onto Chocolate Chip card and then mounted to the base card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Final step is to stamp the Thanks in Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White card and punch out with the Small Oval Punch. Punch a Large Oval from a scrap of Soft Sky. Layer together and then mount onto card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Live Your Dream
Card: Soft Sky, Chocolate chip, Whisper White, Afternoon Tea DSP
Ink: Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky
Accessories: Groovy Guava double-stitched ribbon, Large & Small Oval punches.

Last Christmas Stamp-A-Stack for the year.....

This past Thursday was my final Christmas Stamp-A-Stack for the year.

Here is the 1st card we made:

Solemn Stillness SAS

I've used the Solemn Stillness stamp set with the overlay done using Gold EP.

The colours used are Kraft, Bravo Burgundy, Blue Bayou and Very Vanilla cardstock along with Mellow Moss, Bravo Burgundy and Versamark inkpads.

I don't often use Kraft but was very happy with this combination so must make a note to self to try and use Kraft more often.

Now the second card I've used my all time favourite stamp set 'Season of Joy'. I'm so going to miss this set on Monday when it's no longer available for purchase but at least I have mine. If you like it as much as me but still don't have your own set then don't miss out place your order with me by 9pm Sunday 30th November. I can have it shipped directly to you anywhere in Australia and you will still have time to make some last minute Christmas Cards....... You can place your order by email or phone on 02 9620 9092 or Mob: 0418 218 467

Now to actually show you the card:

Season of Joy SAS

This is a very quick and simple card but still very effective and definitely says 'Christmas'.

I've used Real Red, Old Olive, River Rock and Very Vanilla Cardstock along with some Dashing DSP, Real Red Inkpad and a little bit of Real Red grosgrain ribbon.

This would make an ideal last minute card as it takes very little time and you can make multiples using just 1 sheet of the Dashing DSP along with your coordinating cardstock in no time.

Another creation using Holiday Harmony DSP

In my last post I shared all the items we created at my Christmas Extravaganza which was held last Saturday evening. I mentioned in the post that even after making all these items we still had some DSP left, so I decided to make this project I'm sharing with you today, which is another of Makeesha Byl's wonderful creations she generously shares on a Demonstrator group each Monday and also uploads to her blog to share with all her readers.

Love Notes Christmas Box top

This project is called 'Love Notes Gift Boxes'.

This project is made using 1 sheet of DSP, 1 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock, some ribbon, 4 Love Notes & envelopes, stamps, ink and embellishments if desired.

This is the inside of the box:Love Notes Christmas Box inside

The sides of the box is actually held together by the ribbon which on the inside holds the Love Notes in place.

There is still room for some choccies or other treat to be placed in the centre of the box before giving it to some lucky person.

Like to see the Love Notes??

Love Notes Christmas Box Cards

All the Love Notes have been decorated with the Season of Joy stamp set and coordinating colours. I've used some left over Holiday Harmony DSP on 3 of them (there is still plenty of DSP left I just thought the 4th card had enough) and I've stamped an edge of the envelopes to match.

I really love the colour combination for the Holiday Harmony DSP which is Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate and River Rock. It's going to be a shame when I've made enough Christmas things but I'm sure I can put the colour combination to use with another stamp set or two.......

Now to work out what else I can make with the remaining Holiday Harmony DSP left. It's surprising how far 1 packet of Designer Series Paper actually goes.

Remember the Holiday Harmony DSP, Season of Joy Stamp set and many other items in the Spring Mini Catalogue are only available till tomorrow. I'll place my last order Sunday 30th at 9pm so if there is still something you would like let me know either by email or phone 02 9620 9092 or Mob: 0418 218 467

Christmas Extravaganza update

Last night was my Christmas Extravaganza event and we had lots of fun making our projects that were displayed in my last post. It ended up being a very late night, or maybe I should say, early morning but everyone went home happy with their items.

All the projects made where done using 1 packet of Holiday Harmony Designer Series paper along with coordinating items and there is still some DSP left over. This DSP along with the Season of Joy stamp set that I've used and the Purely Pomegranate Satin ribbon are only available till 30th November so if you wanted some order now so you don't miss out. All other materials used are in the current IB&C and therefore available for purchase until 31st March.

Most of the projects have been CASED from Splitcoaststampers, Stampin' Up demonstrators or craft lovers that have generously provided tutorials for us to share and recreate these items. All items that have been CASED have a link to the original tutorials that I have used.

Would you like to see the projects in closer detail?

Project 7 was a card box with acetate lid and belly band along with 6 matching cards & envelopes.

Project 7 - Card Box, 6 cards & envelopes Project 7 - Card

The measurements to make this box are as follows:

Box base: Always Artichoke 236mm x 187mm. Score all sides at 35mm
Lid: Acetate cut to 197mm X 148mm. Score all sides at 15mm.

To make the Belly Band I only had A4 card in River Rock available so this is what I did.

1 x River Rock 34mm x 225mm, 1 x River Rock 34mm x 100mm

1 x DSP 30mm x 225mm, 1 x DSP 30mm x 100mm

I layered the pattern pieces onto the matching River Rock piece and then scored the 225mm length as follows:

Score at 15mm then at 53mm at either end. Place over lid of box and wrap to back adhere the smaller piece just connecting the edges so there is room to slide the belly band on and off the box. (hope that makes sense)

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Season of Joy, Party Punch (Hostess Level 1)
Card: Always Artichoke, River Rock, Purely Pomegranate, Very Vanilla, Holiday Harmony DSP
Ink: Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate, River Rock
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1", 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches, Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Transperancy Sheet, Very Vanilla C6 envelopes.

and the final project was a Christmas Cracker and a great tutorial for making this project can be found on Lynette Couper's blog here

My weekend creations......

Friday night was fortnightly stamp night with friends, although anyone local to Lalor Park NSW is welcome to join us so email me if you are interested in coming along and I can let you know what happens. I like to have some sort of plan of what I'd like to do so I at least get something made. We stamp at my kitchen table so not sure if my mojo sometimes remains in my craft room but I always seem to get less done on Friday night stamping out there than I do if we stamp again on the Saturday night in my craft room (not as much room in there for everyone but Saturday is usually a smaller group).

This week I decided I was going to make a Christmas themed Free-standing Pop-up card and this is what I came up with:

Season of Joy 2

Supplies:
Stamp set: Season of Joy
Card: Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate, River Rock, Very Vanilla
Ink: Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate, River Rock
Accessories: 1 5/8" & 1 1/4" circle punches, Corner rounder punch, Crop-a-dile, Pewter Jumbo Eyelet, Purely Pomegranate double-stitched ribbon, River Rock double-stitched ribbon, Sticky Strip.

This was my first attempt at one of these so I'm quite happy with it.

The only other thing I did that night was to complete a page in a Friendship Book from a yahoo group I'm in. See not much from me in that 5 hour period but the 2 Baileys and the fact I was sorting out my upcoming Summer Mini preorder might just have been contributing factors there......

Saturday night wasn't a great deal better unfortunately. I was supposed to have a Christmas SAS on Friday with a friend/mum from my girls school but I'd forgotten I was going to the Papercraft Festival on Friday so we moved the SAS to the Saturday night and the lady came with us to Papercrafts instead. This was her first time ever at a Papercraft Show so she was fascinated with it all. So Saturday night I was demonstrating and instructing on the Christmas Cards and in between working on some of my own creations..... I wouldn't normally do this at a SAS but this lady is also a friend and if she needed help I stopped and assisted her first. When we were done she stayed and watched and chatted for a while with my good friend and neighbour that I was stamping with as she was very intrigued by what we were doing seeing that she is really new to stamping and all that it has to offer.

So what did I create on Saturday night?  First off I stamped in another Friendship Book and then I decided to pull out my recently purchased but not yet used Bloomin' with Beauty stamp set. This set is from the current Spring Mini catalogue which ends 30th November so if there is anything you wanted don't leave it till the last minute and then find it's too late.....

Here's my Saturday night creation.

Bloomin' with Beauty 1

Not only did I use a new stamp set but I also pulled out some long neglected but much loved items to create this card and that was my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and Fine Lace Background stamp.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Bloomin' with Beauty, Fine Lace
Card: Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Old Olive, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon Black, Cameo Coral
Accessories: Watercolour Wonder Crayons, Earth Elements brads, Tool Kit, Aqua Painter, Stampin' Dimensionals.

I loved playing with this set so Sunday after we returned from Church, as my middle 2 girls are doing their Holy Communion this month, I decided I was going to play with it some more. I picked out a Sketch Challenge from Splitcoaststampers this time which had a circular piece in the layering so I could also use my newly purchased Creative Memories Circle Cutters. I'm holding out hope for Stampin' Up to include the Coluzzle Cutting system in our next IB&C but I still want to be able to do some different things until that happens and I'm sure many of you out there have 'other' things you use in your creating too.

And here is this creation:

Bloomin' with Beauty 2

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Bloomin' with Beauty, Fine Lace
Card: Always Artichoke, Ballet Blue, Creamy Caramel, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon Black, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Watercolour Wonder Crayons, Aqua Painter, Stampin' Dimensionals, CM Circle Cutters (non-SU)

The colours I've used are from the Colour Coach. I was a little unsure at first but they have grown on me and I'm loving this stamp set and watercolouring again.

Next was this one:

Bloomin' with Beauty 3

This card was actually inspired by this card on Splitcoaststampers by Joanne. Now my card doesn't compare to Joanne's but it made me want to use my Nestabilities which are something rather neglected by me as I try to create only using SU items for my blog which of course can be done quite successfully but I didn't buy them to not be used ( I have enough of that sitting around...hahaha) and hopefully you don't mind if I start using them more.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Bloomin' with Beauty, Sincere Salutations
Card: Old Olive, Regal Rose, Watercolour Paper, Rose Red Prints DSP
Ink: Stazon Black
Accessories: Watercolour Wonder Crayons, Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Nestabilities (non-SU)

I managed to make 1 more card using this set on Sunday and then I had to stop so I could get dinner ready on time and then get the ironing done. Housework....it always gets in our way....hahaha.

So this is my last creation for the weekend.

Bloomin' with Beauty 4

Now I like the other 3 Bloomin' with Beauty cards but I must say this is my favourite. This time I watercoloured with the inkpads and an aqua painter, just for a change and also because we don't have In Colours in Watercolour Wonder Crayons. I've also used my recently new Basic Phrases stamp set too. This one is all SU again too.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Bloomin' with Beauty, Basic Phrases
Card: Old Olive, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Watercolour Paper, Spring Break DSP
Ink: Stazon Black, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Creamy Caramel.
Accessories: Small & Large Oval Punches, Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Aqua Painter.

I'm so glad I ended up purchasing this set as even though I did like it when the Spring Mini was first released, I wasn't sure if I would use it enough. Well I don't think that's going to be a concern anymore so look out you will probably see some more in the not too distant future as I plan on trying out some more colour combinations.

Le Jardin Carte Postale.

Le Jardin is the lovely Designer Series paper in gorgeous colours of River Rock, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Very Vanilla. Carte Postale is one of the lovely stamp sets that coordinates with the Le Jardin DSP.

Tonight is my monthly stamp class that a few mum's from my daughter's school attend. We normally just do cards but we have decided to do some boxes or other 3-D items and tonight I've turned it into a 3 piece set.

Stamp Class October 08

Isn't this colour combination just gorgeous? It's so soft looking. I must say I'm very happy with these creations and hope the ladies are too.

Here's a closer look at each of them.

The Tote.....

Le Jardin Tote

I didn't think this needed any stamping as the paper is just gorgeous on it's own and I've covered a fair space on the front and back.

Supplies:
Card: Soft Sky, River Rock, Le Jardin DSP
Accessories: Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets, Crop-a-dile, Sticky Strip.

The first card I made was this one.

Carte Postale 1

For this card I used a left over piece of the DSP I've used on the Tote. I layered it straight onto the Soft Sky card, stamped Mon Amie in River Rock ink on the bottom right hand corner and added some paper piercing underneath. I've then stamped the flower square image on Very Vanilla Card using So Saffron ink and then punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch. I've then punched a 1 3/8" circle from Soft Sky card and a Scallop Circle from some River Rock card. This is then all layered as shown and mounted to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Supplies:
Stamp set: Carte Postale
Card: Soft Sky, River Rock, Very Vanilla, Le Jardin DSP
Ink: So Saffron, River Rock
Accessories: 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches, scallop circle punch, tool kit, stampin' dimensionals.

For the final card I decided to make a Joy Fold Card.

Carte Postale Joy Fold

For the base of this card I've used Very Vanilla card and added 2 coordinating pieces of Le Jardin DSP. The top flap is So Saffron with Very Vanilla card which I have stamped images from the Carte Postale stamp set. Inside also has a piece of Very Vanilla card which I've left blank until I need to use the card and can then select an appropriate stamp or just hand write on it. As you can see I've Paper Pierced around the Very Vanilla stamped piece and the bird has been stamped, cut out and then mounted with stampin' dimensionals. I've used the same scallop flower piece as on the previous card which holds the card shut.

Supplies:
Stamp set: Carte Postale
Card: Very Vanilla, So Saffron, River Rock, Soft Sky, Le Jardin DSP
Ink: River Rock, Soft Sky, So Saffron.
Accessories: 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle punches, scallop circle punch, tool kit, stampin' dimensionals, stamp-a-ma-jig.

More casing ....

I have more cards to show you today with the first card being another IB&C CASE and the other two are alterations using different sets. I'm trying to use some of those sets that have been collecting a little dust recently.....

So here is the IB&C CASE this time using the correct colours:

All Through The Year 1

Supplies:
Stamp sets: All Through the Year, All Occasions, Garden Annuals Wheel
Card: Certainly Celery, Soft Sky, Confetti White, Close to Cocoa DSP
Ink: Rose Red, Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery ink pads, Rose Red, Certainly Celery & Close to Cocoa Markers.
Accessories: Earth Elements & Neutrals Buttons, Stampin' Dimensionals. Stapler, Crochet Cotton.

For this next card I searched through my sets to find one with a nice long verse and came up with Beautiful Life. I wanted to use a green printed paper with this set so chose Old Olive and then used the Colour Coach to select the coordinating colours of Bravo Burgundy and More Mustard. This is what I cam up with:

Beautiful Life

I've stamped the other Daffodil image over the Bravo Burgundy card using Bravo Burgundy ink as I didn't have a wheel I thought went well with this set. The verse has been inked using Old Olive and Bravo Burgundy markers. I also chose to make this card a side opening as it's so much easier to use your stapler this way.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Beautiful Life
Card: Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Confetti Cream, Old Olive Prints DSP
Ink: Bravo Burgundy & More Mustard ink pads, Bravo Burgundy & Old Olive markers.
Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin' Dimensionals, stapler.

The final card I made I've used Natural Beauty and One of A Kind stamp sets. I couldn't decide on a wheel for this card either so instead I stamped the bird from Natural Beauty on the Barely Banana card in Barely Banana ink in the lower right corner (hopefully you can see that in the picture). This colour combination is another from the Colour Coach.

Natural Beauty 1

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Natural Beauty, One of a Kind
Card: Barely Banana, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Certainly Celery Prints DSP
Ink: Barely Banana, Rose Red ink pads, Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery markers
Accessories: Boho Blossoms Punch, Silver Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, stapler.

CASING

I have a few cards to show you today. I decided to CASE a card from the current Idea Book & Catalogue and then see how I could change it using different stamps but keeping the layout the same or close to. In other words I used the sketch layout for the remaining cards.

This is my card that I cased from the IB&C on page 20.

Spring Solitude Catty Case

I was going to do a complete CASE but I didn't have any Old Olive Textured cardstock left so I had to use another colour combination which was chosen from the 'Mix it up with Color' list. The colours I've ended up using are Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, More Mustard and Ruby Red. This card actually looks more time consuming that it is. I'm happy with the results. What do you think??

The colours used in the IB&C card are Old Olive, Blue Bayou, Real Red & More Mustard.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Spring Solitude Bundle (Hostess set)
Card: Wild Wasabi textured, Soft Sky, Very Vanilla, East Coast Prep DSP
Ink: More Mustard, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Earth Elements buttons, Linen Thread, Pewter Jumbo Eyelets, Crop--dile, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Next I decided to pull out a stamp set I haven't used in a while and that was Scribble This. The colour combination for this one is another from the 'Mix it up with Color!' combinations that Stampin' Up! supply us with when the new In Colors are released. I changed one element of the card in this layout but kept it in the same region.

Scribble This 1

You can't really tell from this picture but there is glitter over the top flower and the swirly image, hence why the word 'sparkle' is on the card. The changed element is 2 word window punches in place of the circle punch and eyelet.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Scribble This, Warm Words
Card: Close to Cocoa textured, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Spring Fling DSP
Ink: Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink, Wild Wasabi, Close to Cocoa,Basic Black
Accessories: Word Window Punch, Pretties Kit (Rhinestone Brad), 2-way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin' Dimensionals.

The final card (for now anyway) I've gone for something I think is a little more elegant.

Baroque Motifs 5

I'm using the gorgeous Brocade Background DSP again so I've chosen the Baroque Motifs set this time. I love the colours in this DSP, they are just so soft and elegant looking. As you can see I've used some 1/2 back pearls to add that extra touch.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Baroque Motifs
Card: River Rock textured, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, Brocade Background DSP
Ink: Always Artichoke, Old Olive, River Rock, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Crop-a-dile, Pewter Jumbo Eyelet, Pretties Kit, Stampin' Dimensionals, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots

My personal favourites are the Spring Solitude and Baroque Motifs cards. The Scribble This looks nicer in person but I might play around with some other colour combinations on that one and see if I can create something I'm happier with. I'm sure I'll be using this sketch again too.

So, do you have a favourite??

Make A Wish

Today I'm sharing a Tunnel Card with you all. The stamp set I've used is Big Bold Birthday which is 20% off during October with the purchase of $20 worth of regular catalogue merchandise. This set is only 1 of 5 pre-selected sets on special during October for Stampin' Up!'s 20th Birthday Promotion. You can view the full promotion here.

This card was made for my 2nd eldest daughter who turned 10 on Saturday. Her favourite colour is Blue so that's what I worked with.

I've used my Nestabilities for layering the cupcake as I felt it needed a little something. Unfortunately I'd worked from the inside of the card out so couldn't use the matching jumbo wheel or even a background stamp to add a little bit of something to the base card as the card wasn't flat enough to risk attempting a good stamped image. I've used the word window punch for the words and then layered that onto a small oval punch piece.

Now for the inside of the card. I used Prints Designer Series Paper here and my Coluzzle Cutting System for the oval cut outs. I've had my Coluzzle for years but don't often think to use it but making this style of card it came in very handy. Not sure what I could have used in it's place.

My daughter was happy with it but unfortunately it didn't compare to the Blue iPod that was her present. We decided to spoil her as she recently participated in the University Computer Test that you can do at Primary School and she received a High Distinction which placed her in the top 1% of NSW and ACT entrants. On a whole she does really well at school and if you can't spoil your own children from time to time, who can.....

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Big Bold Birthday, It's Your Birthday
Card: Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Brilliant Blue Prints DSP
Ink: Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Rose Red, More Mustard Ink pads, Rose Red & More Mustard Markers
Accessories: Bashful Blue 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, Linen Thread, Word Window Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin' Dimensionals, Coluzzle Cutting System, Nestabilities.

Cherish

During School holidays I do just what I need to in regards to housework and book work (my hubbies business) while my 4 girls are home. Unfortunately for me this then makes for a busy 1st week when they return to school catching up on things. I've managed to get most of it done so now I can have some crafting time again which of course means some things to share with you all.

Friday night was stamping at my house and I decided I wanted to try some different style cards. Off I go to Splitcoaststampers to the Resources and printed out the Joy Fold and Tunnel Card Tutorials. I don't often make construction type cards but seeing I've been doing a lot of different things in regards to my creations of late I'm really starting to enjoy the change. I hope you're enjoying what I'm sharing.

This post is going to show you the Joy Fold Card I made first. I really wanted to use the Brocade Background DSP in this card so that made colour choices easy and also the stamp set. The colours that coordinate with the Brocade Background DSP are Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and River Rock and then I used Very Vanilla for stamping on. The stamp sets that coordinate are Brocade Basics, Baroque and Baroque Motifs. I went with Brocade Basics which I haven't used for a little while.

So here is my card.....

On Saturday evening after my World Card Making Day event a few friends and I stamped together. I managed to catch up on a few things that night but I also managed to make the Card Organiser shown. I had been wanting to make one for the past few days and just hadn't had time. You can find all the measurements and a tutorial on Dannie Graves blog which is where I found it.

A great day had by all.......

Yesterday (Saturday) was my World Card Making Day event and even though numbers were small we had a great couple of hours together. Until Saturday morning I thought it might just be 4 friends and myself and then I was contacted by 2 members of an online stamping group that I help run who wanted to come along too. I wasn't sure if there would be anyone coming along from seeing my event listed on the Stampin' Up!'s website so I decided just to have 10 kits made and if more turned up I had things handy to quickly whip up some more. My 2 eldest girls were glad no one else did as it meant there were kits left for them to make up. Like to see what we made??

This is a little Love Notes box and 3 matching Love Note Cards all made using the Sending Happy Thoughts stamp set from the Simply Sent Kit - Sending Happy Thoughts which is 20% off from 4th - 1th October ONLY.
