Happy Birthday.

Hello fellow crafters and welcome to The Paper Shelter Blog Hop where we are celebrating The Paper Shelter reaching their 4th Birthday on the 8th December. This will be a  2 week challenge with  both teams taking part.

The Hop is our way of inviting you to join in with us for an extremely popular theme of ‘A Special Celebration’

Our Design Team have worked very hard and are showcasing the gorgeous images available from The Paper Shelter store and each blog on the hop is offering one lucky commenter a digi of their choice as well as the main prize, details of which are on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog

If you have landed here from Sandra’s blog then you are heading in the right direction. If not you might want to head back to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog to start at the beginning, as you will not want to miss out on seeing any of the wonderful DT creations or a chance at a prize.

I’ve gone with a 3D item for my creation today and what better to celebrate a Birthday than with a Birthday Cake.

I’ve used the very cute Cheerleader image from The Paper Shelter to ‘top’ my cake. I’ve decorated my layers with some lovely bright & cherry papers from Bella BLVD. All cardstock for the cake is from Stampin’ Up.

Here’s a close up of the image.

My image was printed onto X-Press It Blending card using my Copic Markers.

The colours I’ve used are: Skin - E11, E00, E000, R20; Hair - E47, E44, E43, E42, E41; Clothes, Shoes & Pom Poms - Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11, BG18, BG15, BG13, BG11, RV14, RV11.

I’ve made my cake using Silhouette Studio and cut it out on my Cameo. It’s 4 tiers in honour of The Paper Shelter’s 4th Birthday. The bottom tier is a gift box, the middle layers are sealed and the top layer has a centre platform which you can see in the photo above. The candles are chipboard pieces which I have painted with some Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic and the flame is coloured using some Liquid Pearls.

The ‘Happy Birthday’ and ‘Balloons’ are chipboard pieces that I have painted. The Happy Birthday and Balloon strings are painted using Emerald All-Purpose Ink from Tsukineko and the Balloon has been painted using Liquid Pearls and then covered with Crystal Effects. The Stars and ‘4’ have been cut on my Silhouette Cameo. A little bit of party popper streams and it’s done.

Here’s one last photo.

From here you will need to hop on over to Patty Sue's blog.  Don’t forget to leave your comment for a chance of winning your choice of one of the fabulous digis available in store.

Hop! Hop! Hop!

Good luck and I hope you’re enjoying it so far.

Nikki
