Spring Tulip

It’s time for a new challenge at Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog and this week we’d like you to use….

Washi Tape or Faux Washi Tape on your creations.

Our sponsor for this challenge is….

Doodle Garden Digis

I have chosen to create a spring themed card using their ‘Spring Tulip’ image.

Here’s what I came up with.

P1040389

I have printed the image onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloured with my Copic Markers. I’ve then trimmed my image and covered the edges in Washi Tape to create a frame (or faux layer). I have done this to a larger piece of plain cardstock which is layered onto my main card. I’ve then added some papers from My Mind’s Eye from their Collectable ‘Notable’ pad. Layered on my main image and added some bling. I’ve stamped a sentiment from Wild Rose Studio’s ‘Circle Greetings’ set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some X-Press It Blending Card, this is then cut it and layered with a mixture of Small & Large Classic & ScallopNestabilities dies.

Here’s a closer look at my image.

P1040390

If you haven’t already stopped by the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog then pop over now and check out what the rest of the DT have created for this week’s challenge.

Other Supplies: (All Stampin’ Up)

Cardstock: Whisper White
Accessories: Washi Tape – Gingham Garden, Basic Jewels – Rhinestones, Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I’m entering this card into the following challenges:

Freshly Harvested

It’s time for a new challenge at Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog and this week is……

Paper Piecing.

Our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter.

I am using a set from The Paper Shelter today called Freshly Harvested.

Here’s what I came up with for my first ever attempt at paper piecing.

P1040350

I’ve used a mix of the Pre-coloured and line images in my creations and fiddled a little in my picture editing software to achieve my end result.

The background and the plants are the pre-coloured parts I’ve used. These come in a few options but I’ve edited them and combined 2 together. I’ve also created my sentiment in my editing program and added it to my background. I’ve printed the tag section up an additional 2 times to add some layering.

My main image has been printed onto X-Press It Blending Card once and then 3 other times onto 3 different digital papers from the Let’s make a Pic-nic! Paper Pack from The Paper Shelter. I’ve then cut out different parts of the image from the 3 papers for her clothes, scarf and thongs (as us Aussie’s would say) or as others now them, flip flops. I’ve coloured in her skin, hair & basket with my Copic Markers and then layered the paper pieced pieces onto my image. I then fussy cut the image and added the image to the card using Dimensionals to give it a more 3D effect.

The card I kept very simple so the image is the main focus.

Here’s a closer look at the image.

P1040351

The Copic Markers I’ve used are:

Skin – E00, E000, E0000, R20; Eyes – B95, B93, B91; Hair & Basket – E57, E55, E53, E51; Greenery in Basket – YG95, YG93, YG91.

Supplies:
Card: Mellow Moss (retired SU), Naturals White(SU), X-Press It Blending Card
Accessories: Go Create Die – XXL Square Frames Frilly #8, Dimensionals, Copic Markers.

I hope my card gives you some inspiration to have a go at some Paper Piecing and enter our Loves Rubberstamps challenge.

If you haven’t already stopped by the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog then pop over now and check out what the rest of the DT have created for this week’s challenge.

In the Snow Heart Tilda

We have a new challenge for you today over at Inkspirational Challenges and this time it’s a…….

So what you need to do for this challenge is pop on over to Yvonne’s blog and find a card that you would like to CASE.

CASE = Copy and Share Everything.

You card/creation needs to resemble Yvonne’s (and we need to be able to see the resemblance) but you also need to put your own twist on it. So you might wish to keep the layout or theme of her card but change out the image, papers & embellishments, etc.

We can’t wait to see what you all come up with so come join us at Inkspirational.

Here’s the card I chose to CASE of Yvonne’s.

Untitled-1

Here’s my creation.

P1040268

I’ve loved Yvonne’s layout for her card so I have kept most of this. I also stuck to her Christmas theme but have gone totally away from Yvonne’s vintage look to a cute Tilda card which I guess still has a vintagey feel with the dsp, sponging, lace, etc.

My image has been stamped onto Cryogen White cardstock and coloured with Copic Markers.

The colours I’ve used are: Skin- E00, E000, E0000 R20; Hair – E44, E42, E40; Clothes – BG78, BG75, BG72 & BG90, Boots – C8, C6, C4, C2, C0.

I’ve added some liquid applique to her mittens and beanie and also Frantaged a little around the image. This was my first attempt at using Frantage and I managed to achieve the soft look I wanted (although I would have liked a little more of the gold) and best of all I didn’t make a mess…..lol.

Here’s a closer look at the image.

P1040269

And another

P1040270

For the inside of my card I’ve used some more of the DSP and another doily to tie it all together.

P1040272

I love how this turned out. Hope you like it too. Please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know.

Supplies:
Stamps: In the Snow Heart Tilda (Magnolia – Winter Wonderland), Petite Pairs (Stampin’ Up)
Card: Naturals Ivory & Very Vanilla (Stampin’ Up), Cryogen White, Winter Wonderland – In The Snow (Magnolia DSP)
Ink:Island Indigo & Crumb Cake(Stampin’ Up), Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Circle Framelits, Curly Label Punch, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Pearls, sponge (Stampin’ Up), Doilies (from the Silhouette Store and cut on my Cameo), Lace, Snowflake (Joy Crafts Die), Frantage – Shabby White (Stampendous), White Liquid Applique, Copic Markers.

Don’t forget to stop by Inkspirational, if you haven’t already, and see what the rest of the DT came up with for this challenge.

Hope to see you join us.
