Catty Casing….

Friday night was stamp night and I was determined to make at least a few cards on the night. All too often I get chatting and eating and don’t end up making anything and considering we usually stamp for 5 – 6 hours that’s really not good.

I decided that I would CASE a card from the current IB&C and then recreate something using the same layout but different stamps, colours, etc.

The first card I decided to case is using a Level 1 Hostess set called Organic Grace. This card is on page 17 of the IB&C.

Organic Grace 1

The colours used are Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Mellow Moss and Whisper White.

Sticking with the layout I decided to go with something more bold and came up with this.

Petal Pizzazz 1

The colours on this card are Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Summer Sun, Pacific Point and Whisper White. I’ve used the Petal Pizzazz and On Your Birthday stamp sets.

The next card I decided to CASE from the IB&C is this one which is on page 54 and is using the Cheers to You stamp set.

Cheers to You 1

The colours used her are Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip with the images stamped onto Watercolour Paper using Stazon Jet Black.

Again I stuck with the layout and created this card.

Pocket Silhouettes 1

This card is using the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set along with Bashful Blue, Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy and Whisper White.

I managed to CASE one other card from the IB&C but I’m still working on my alternative for you so hopefully I’ll have that and more to share with you over the next few days.

Happy stamping,

Post-It Note Holders

Each month at my Stamp Club the ladies get to make a little something and this month it was a Post-It Note holder. This tutorial is from Splitcoaststampers and is by who other than Makeesha Byl. I’m sure you all know by now how much I love the projects Makeesha comes up with.

This is my first Post-It Note Holder I had made up to show the ladies. Yes I’ve used Fifth Avenue Floral again.

Fifth Ave Floral front Fifth Ave Floral inside

On the night I make one to demonstrate and the ladies work along with me. For this one I decided to use Washington Apple DSP and I’ve only just finished decorating the front using the Petal Pizzazz stamp set.

Petal Pizzazz front Petal Pizzazz inside

It’s amazing how many different colours and sizes the Post-It Notes come in these days. I won’t tell you how many I purchased in varying sizes and colours but keep checking back as I’ve altered the pattern for the holders to make some larger size ones which will hold a pen instead of a small pencil. I still need to finish decorating though so and will share soon. Some of the colours go lovely with Stampin’ Up’s Designer Series Papers.

Lovin’ the In-Colors

I loved the first In-Colors we had, last years were even nicer but I have to say that I like this years even more and am so happy that we will have them till 31st August, 2010. It actually surprises me how much I like them as when I first saw them online after they were released in the US on the Incentive Cruise (I think it was then) I didn’t think much of them. Seeing them in person is so much different though.

I have 2 cards to share with you today and both of them contain some In-Colors and also some of the lovely coordinating DSP which is part of the May Promotion ending 31st May. Check out the details here.

This first card was my Secret Stamper card which is for a monthly swap on an online stamp group I’m in. I found this lovely card by Ilina Crouse on SCS and made a few alterations and came up with this.

Fifth Ave Floral 1

Fifth Avenue Floral would have to be one of my favourite stamp sets in the new IB&C. Mind you there are a few favourites……lol. My favourite Hostess set would have to be the Level 1 set ‘Best Yet’. I just love the fonts used, the layout and words. It’s a very versatile set and was the one on my first order. The new eyelet border punch adds a lovely delicate touch to cards too and of course I can’t miss commenting on the gorgeous Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon (it’s Kiwi Kiss one side and Very Vanilla on the other).

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Best Yet
Card: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Urban Oasis DSP
Inks: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Silver Hodgepodge Ribbon slide, Eyelet Border Punch.

This next card is using the Upsy Daisy stamp set. There are lots of variations and similar cards out there like this one. This card was made for my April GTKY (Getting To Know You) partner which is another monthly swap on the online stamping group.

Upsy Daisy 1

I’ve stamped the daisies twice. First time in Baja Breeze and then the second time in Not Quite Navy which is slightly to the right of the first image to give a shadow effect.  Unfortunately it’s not very visible in this photo but I’m sure you can imagine what it looks like up close.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Upsy Daisy
Card: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, Urban Garden DSP
Inks: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Baja Breeze Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig

Convention Swap cards

I had planned to share my swap cards with you as soon as I returned home from Convention. As I mentioned in my last post it’s been pretty hectic playing catch up and doing a few other things that had to come first.

This year I made 5 different card designs and a total of 120. I did manage to swap them all (I did give a couple away) but not until lunchtime on Saturday. That’s a first for me but seeing that we went down and checked in and did the Momento Mall thing at 7am we then went and had some breaky and didn’t get back early enough. A lot of demonstrators had already swapped all theirs out but I did manage to find some and even a few demos who were saving a card just for me. That was nice.

So here are the designs that I made.

Candy Lane Dreams – Mojo Monday Week 88

It’s been a while since my last post but life was hectic leading up to Convention and then it hasn’t changed much since. I have a few things to show you over the next few days, including my Convention Swaps, and hopefully I’ll be finding more time more frequently to stamp, create and share with you again.

It was Open Day at my youngest 3 girls school today but due to the poor weather we visited their classrooms and then the rest of the planned performances were rescheduled till later in the term as we don’t have a school hall yet.  It’s on it’s way though. I was meant to be at our P & C display for the day also but we’ve rescheduled that too. Doing so allowed me to come home and play instead so I decided to make a card for the Mojo Monday Sketch.

It’s been a while since I’ve participated in the Mojo Monday sketches and to have it done so early in the week is just wonderful.

Here is the sketch:

Mojo88Sketch

and this is my creation.

Card 1

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Dreams du Jour
Card: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Candy Lane DSP
Ink: Basic Brown, Versamark, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Round Tab Punch, 1/4” circle punch(retired), Blender Pen, Clear Embossing Powder, Crystal Effects.

I love using DSP (designer series paper) in my cards and this months promotion was wonderful to make use of and stock up on my dsp supplies. If you weren’t aware of the May Promotion you can check back on this post. The promotion ends 31st May so if you need to place an order please do so by 9pm Sunday 31st May by email or you can phone me on 02 9620 9092 or Mob: 0418 218 467.

It’s Party Time!!!!

It’s Party Time at my house tonight with my 3rd daughter, Lauren, turning 9 years old today. We decided no big party this year but she was allowed to invite 2 friends to Pizza dinner and a DVD.

To make it a little more special I decided to make some of the lovely Handbags that the gorgeous Makeesha Byl demonstrated at Convention for her party/lolly bags.

Here’s a picture of one empty handbag.

Party Handbag empty x 1

Isn’t it gorgeous. Makeesha is such a clever lady and so generous to share her wonderful ideas and tutorials with us all and for FREE……. I’m not sure if this tutorial is on her website yet but if you haven’t seen her other ones then pop over to her website and check them out.

Now I needed to make 7 all up which is 1 each for her friends, her 3 sisters, our neighbour and my good friends little girl and of course for Lauren too.

I literally whipped up the 7 handbags last night and have just finished doing the contents. I’ve used retired DSP as they will appreciate them regardless and it helps get rid of some of my surplus……

Here are the 7 bags full with their goodies.

Party Handbags x 7 - Lauren

Don’t they look fantastic? Well I think so anyway.I’m not even sure which one is my favourite.

Would you like to see what’s in them?

Party Handbag & contents

Inside each handbag is a Lolly bag which I’ve made a matching bag topper for, a pen and mechanical pencil which has matching dsp inside and a glow stick bangle.

Now I better get a move on and finish cleaning the house and do some decorating before it’s time to pick my 4 girls up from school. I’d better make that Birthday card too…nothing like leaving things till the last minute now is there…..lol

Convention Swaps

I’ve been a little quiet again and most of that has to do with the 3rd Annual Stampin’ Up Convention that I attended last weekend in Canberra.

Would you like to see them?? Now this is only 1 of each design not the whole 122 of course. If I did that you might not have seen them clear enough……
