Friendship Blooms.....

The stamp set I've used in this card, is again from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue which ends on 29th February.

This set is called Friendship Blooms. The colour combination I've used is from the Colour Coach and I've used a SCS Sketch Challenge for the layout of the card.

Friendship Blooms 1 I started with a Chocolate Chip A5 card. Next step was to run some Almost Amethyst through my Cuttlebug which was then mounted to the Chocolate Chip Card.

Using So Saffron cardstock and the Tag Punch, I've create an elongated tag which I have stamped the verse onto using Chocolate Chip Ink and then mounted onto the main card as shown.

Now for the main image. I started with my Whisper White Cardstock, Rose Red inkpad and Flower stamp and stamped onto the cardstock. I have then stamped the same image onto a Post-It Note and cut out to create a mask for the next step. I've positioned the mask over the original stamped image and then using Chocolate Chip ink and the flower swirl stamp, stamped randomly over the flower image so when you remove the mask the swirls look like they are underneath in some areas. This is then mounted onto some Chocolate Chip Cardstock. For the centre of the flower I have stamped the flower image using So Saffron ink onto some scrap Whisper White and cut out the centre flower. I then used some Rose Red cardstock and the 1/4" circle punch to punch the centre for the flower. I've adhered the Rose Red circle punch to the So Saffron flower using a glue dot and then mounted over flower image using Stampin' Dimensionals. I've added a piece of Hodgepodge and tied some co-ordinating ribbons to it. This whole piece was then mounted to main card using Stampin' Dimensionals. For the last step I have added some Crystal Effects to the Rose Red flower centre.

Merci Card & Bookmark

I recently participated in a swap that was hosted in one of the Yahoo groups I'm in. The challenge with this swap was that we had to create a card & bookmark using 'just 1 stamp'. I decided to use the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Merci and this is what I created.

Merci 2a Bookmark

Seeing how I was limited to just one stamp I decided to run my Barely Banana cardstock on the card, through my Cuttlebug using an embossing folder to create the swirl background.  The heart stamp on the Sage Shadow layer on the card was done using the Sage Shadow marker and just inking the larger of the 2 small hearts from the stamp. The main images are coloured using a blender pen and inkpads. I've paper pierced some of the corners on both the card and bookmark and the centre of the flower on the card has a Sage Shadow eyelet added.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Merci

Cardstock: Sage Shadow, Barely Banana, Perfect Plum, Whisper White.

Inks: Sage Shadow, Barely Banana, Perfect Plum, Stazon Black.

Accessories: Tool Kit, Blender Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, Vintage Brads, Cuttlebug & Swirls embossing folder.

Lots of presents....

Each month Demonstrators are provided with some card samples which we can choose to use for our workshops. In January there was a card using the Birthday Whimsy Sale-A-Bration set which I really liked the layout but I wanted brighter cheerier colours, after all that's what birthday time is all about.

So this is what I came up with.

Birthday Whimsy 2

As mentioned this stamp set 'Birthday Whimsy' is from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. All sets in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue are free and all you need to do to receive one is place a $100 order with me. For each $100 you can choose 1 set. The Sale-A-Bration sets will not be available for purchase and will not appear in any upcoming Idea Book & Catalogues. They are a limited time only set. If you don't have a copy of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue you can email me and I'll post one out to you or you can view it online.

Time Well Spent....

Today's card is made using a set that demonstrators received for FREE from Stampin' Up as a Thank You for last year and is called Time Well Spent. This set will be a Level 3 Hostess set in the upcoming Idea Book & Catalogue 2008 | 2009 due out in April.

I'm not sure if you can see but there is glitter on the top flower to give a bit of sparkle. The flower is made up of 3 layers which are 3 seperate flowers in the set.

This card was inspired by strappystamper on SCS. I loved her card but wanted to change the colours and add my own little twist to it. What do you think, did I succeed?

Back in the swing of things.....

School holidays are all over and I'm almost on top of everything.

My eldest daughter started High School this year so some new (and old too I guess) experiences happening in my house. Boy some things have changed since I was at school which granted was a few years ago now but not that long ago really.  Can you believe that they have a 3 day school camp to help the children settle in and socialize with each other?  Didn't we just turn up and get on with things? I'm sure we all survived High School so why shouldn't they without a camp 3rd week into the year?

Now my aim for the remainder of this year is to post more regularly to my blog so you can all come back more often and see what I've been creating. I'd love to say I'll post daily but that may not always happen. With a family of 4 young girls, my hubby's business and of course my Stampin' Up business to take care of I may run out of time to either create or post from time to time.

I do have something to share with you today though and I have some other things to share over the next few weeks so I should be on a roll for a little while at least.

Today's card is made using some items from the current Summer Mini Catalogue (ending on 31st March) and also one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets (available FREE with every $100 purchased until 29th February).
