Priceless Sage

You may have gathered by now that I'm trying to make at least 2 cards using a new stamp set before moving on to another. Today's card is using the new Priceless set and tomorrow's will be too. I've used 2 new items in this card.

As with yesterday's card I've chosen another Colour Sketch CC149 and Card Sketch SC162 from SplitCoastStampers. These challenges are great as it makes you go outside your comfort zone at times and use colours you may not use often or may not have thought to put together.

CC149 is Sage Shadow, Rose Red & Apricot Appeal.

Priceless 1

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Priceless
Card: Sage Shadow, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White, Rose Red Print DSP
Ink: Sage Shadow, Rose Red, Apricot Appeal
Accessories: Silver Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Kind Baroque

Today's card is again using Baroque Motifs. I've chosen both a colour sketch CC156 and a Card Sketch SC126 from SplitCoastStampers for this card. Again I've made sure I kept to my challenge of using at least 1 new item and ended up using 8. I used the Baroque Motifs stamp set, Photo Corner Punch, Sherbert Ribbon Originals, 2 new In Colour Cardstock & Inkpads and So Saffron DSP (Palette O'Prints promotion). I'm still going strong.

Baroque Birthday

I was browsing SplitCoastStampers the other day for some inspiration and came across this most gorgeous card by Annette and new I had to CASE it. I just loved the colour combination of Purely Pomegranate and Certainly Celery. Of course I've made a few minor alterations to my card as I wanted to use only items that are in our current IB&C but it's still very much resembles Annette's card. I still wanted to stick to my challenge and have used 4 new items in this card being the stamp set, Purely Pomegranate cardstock & inkpad along with the taffeta ribbon.

Baroque Motifs 2

What do you think? I know this is mine but isn't it catchy. Yes it's a little time consuming with some cut out's, but well worth the effort I think.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Baroque Motifs, It's Your Birthday
Card: Purely Pomegranate, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla
Inks: Purely Pomegranate, Certainly Celery
Accessories: 3/16" corner rounder punch, Round Tab Punch, 1/8" circle handheld punch, Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, gold brads, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Birthday Wishes

That's right another post from me and hopefully more of them to keep coming each day or at least every couple of days.

I've been setting a challenge for myself to use at least 1 new item in every card. That could be a stamp set, ribbon, embellishment, tool (punch, Crop-A-Dile, etc), new In Colour cardstock and/or inkpad or double-sided designer series papers. I don't want to get to the end of the new IB&C and realise I have so many things that I never got around to using but had purchased with all good intentions of doing so, like last IB&C. I don't know how many stamp sets were not inked at all or only inked a few times.

In today's card I've used a few new items. The stamp set (Garden Whimsy), the double-sided paper (from the Palette O' Prints May Promotion), the scallop circle punch and the Crop-A-Dile (to make the faux brads). That's 4 new items in one card. Pretty good, don't you think?

Now to show you the card.

Garden Whimsy 2

The colour selection is from the Stampin' Up Color Coach. Chocolate Chip, So Saffron (the double-sided designer series paper from the May Palette O'Prints Promotion), Almost Amethyst and Rose Red. I've also used Garden Green on the flower.

Supplies:

Stamp Sets: Garden Whimsy, Sincere Salutations
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Almost Amethyst, Rose Red, Very Vanilla, So Saffron DSP.
Ink: Rose Red, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Crop-A-Dile, Stampin' Dimensionals.

For April's class I wanted to show some different ways to use our Stampin' Pastels.

We made 3 different cards, one using blender pens to colour, another was Chalk Poppin and the last one was doing the Chalkboard Technique. I only have 2 of the cards photographed so I'll share those with you.

March Class Projects

I've started holding Beginner Stamping Classes at my home on a Thursday night once a month. The March class we focused around the Heat Gun and I showed how to decorate a candle with stamping, embossing and also using Heat & Stick Powder with Dazzling Diamonds.

This is 2 of the items we made.

Heat Gun_Embossing Class

Most of us started out stamping using embossing powder but I don't often use it these days. It's something I have to remind myself to use and it shouldn't be that way. I really liked this card.

Candle supplies:

Stamp set: Simply Said
Ink: Stazon
Markers: Only Orange, Pink Passion, Lovely Lilac
Accessories: White Tissue Paper, Waxed Lunch Wrap, Stamp-a-ma-jig, paper snips.

Card supplies:

Stampin' Up Convention 2008 + my Swap card

It's been a busy few weeks for me and hence part of the reason for no card posts. The Stampin' Up Convention 2008 was held in Brisbane on 11th & 12th April and I was busy leading up to this making my swap cards. All up I made 120 card fronts to swap with other demonstrators and the good news is I swapped them all.

Initially I came up with one card design but in 4 different colour schemes. I was going to make 50 of each but then some demonstrators weren't making a lot, due to time restrictions, so I revised my plan. I didn't want to be coming home with a stack of my own card fronts after all. The colour schemes I came up with all needed to include a colour from the Earth Elements brads and this is what I came up with.

Carte Postale - Old OliveCarte Postale - More Mustard Carte Postale - Not Quite Navy Carte Postale - Ruby Red

Clockwise from top left: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive & Pumpkin Pie, next is Not Quite Navy, More Mustard & Old Olive, then Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red & More Mustard and finally Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy & More Mustard. This last combination is what I ended up using for all 120 swaps.

Convention was great fun again this year. What else could it be when you spend 2 days with 280+ other demonstrators stamping, watching demonstrations and prize patrol where free stamps sets are given away. I wasn't lucky enough this year to win at Prize Patrol but I won last year so I can't complain. We received a super Convention bag this year which contained a Idea Book & Catalogue, our 2 stamp sets (Happiness & Fun & Fast Notes), our Make & Take supplies, an Aqua Painter and a Stampin' Up Dream Big Pen (Dream Big was the theme for Convention this year).

This year Leadership Training was held on the Friday night for Snr Supervisor and above and when the training side was finished we went outside the room for supper where we were not only treated to a rich chocolate cake but we all received a FREE stamp set called Garden Whimsy. This was a set on my wish list which I decided to hold off on ordering when I place my initial order from the new IB&C so I must have known and was so glad that I hadn't already ordered it.

Convention 2009 will be held in Canberra on 1st & 2nd May. Convention is only open to demonstrators and their guest if places are available. Why not consider joining my team in time to come along to Convention next year and join in all the fun.
