Bold Brights Challenge.

This past week I held my team meeting and they had requested that we make more cards this month instead of concentrating so much on the business side of things. I still managed to cover business updates, as I chatted while I demonstrated before they did their make & takes.

So that my team could use the cards we were going to make as either a demo or make & take at their workshops, I decided to ask them what stamp sets they still had left after taking away their retired sets and also find out what markers and WWC sets they had to determine what colours I could work with. The end result was for stamp sets: Greetings Galore, Simply Said and Heartfelt Thanks and for colours I was left with Bold Brights as I decided not to use WWC.

Now as I've said before, I'm not a big user of Bold Brights (I love all the colours just don't use Bolds as often as some others and hardly ever stick to just one colour family when making a card), so I took this as a challenge for myself. I decided just to use Bold Brights for cardstock and inks only and only used Simply Said & Heartfelt Thanks for the stamp sets.

Sticking to just these items was a struggle and I was so tempted to grab a few other items but didn't. I wasn't overly happy with my first card and at times just sat at my desk with no inspiration coming at all. In the end the 2 initial cards we were making were made on the morning of my meeting. Nothing like leaving things to the last minute but then again I work better under pressure at times.

In the end we made 4 cards. When they saw the Mother's Day card I had made for my Beginner Class (shown in the previous post) they wanted to make that one too and also another sample card I had made some time back using Simply Said (this card is a CASE from SCS I've just altered some colours).

Here are the 3 cards we made in the end. I was happy with my results but again should make more effort to use Bold Brights.
